Lions and Rudolf in harness to support community charity!
Adrian Woods MBE (pictured) Operations Manager and founder of ‘OnTrak’ young people’s charity.
Wetherby and District Lions are pleased to have been able to support ‘Ontrak’ on behalf of our very own ‘Rudolf’ who gives generously of his time pilot our sleigh round Wetherby and Linton. ‘Rudolf’ is in fact Simon Moore who owns Tockwith Motor Sports and his chosen charity is Ontrak.
‘OnTrak’ is a children and young people’s charity providing motor vehicle training and education to young people aged between 13 and 19 years old, working with local schools, colleges and community organisations.
"We would like to thank the Wetherby Lions very much for your kind donation of £350 which has been gratefully received on the 27th April 2021. This money will be used in our Bike Shed Project in the form of a new welder. Our staff and students work together to pick up bikes, repair and repurpose them and then deliver them out to the community, all free of charge. Our young people are involved from the start of the delivery through to the end-product giving them transferable skills for their future. We have given out around 850 bikes in 2021 alone; we encourage healthy living and family time. This welder is integral to the repairs, repurposing and specific requests that we are currently receiving and we could not do this without your support". Adrian Woods
