Building on our 'Foundation'

The President of Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), Gudrun Yngvadottir, has congratulated Wetherby District Lions Club for supporting critical humanitarian needs around the world. “The support given from your club will help provide Lions the ability to reach these populations and improve the lives of individuals both young and old.”

This last year has seen disasters in Beirut and India to which Wetherby District Lion members have responded. The money donated to LCIF does not get lost in bureaucracy – we were able to send donations of £500 directly to Lions Clubs and members in Beirut and India to help them respond immediately.

When natural disasters strike, Lions are among the first to offer help. With a disaster grant from the centre, they can do even more for communities devastated by hurricanes, floods, fires and other major events. As a foundation, we are proud to offer a variety of grant options to support various stages of disaster relief operations.

Be assured that money raised by Wetherby District Lions Club is always used for the common good.
