Raining Money at The Bridge Hotel & Spa

It was raining money recently at The Bridge Hotel, Walshford when Wetherby District Lions Club had a gala cheque presentation evening distributing over £6000 to worthy charities and individuals.

Recipients included;

• £500 to Eckersley House

• The Sick Children’s Trust,

• £2000 each to St Gemma’s Hospice and The Alzheimer’s Society

• £800 to Kirk Deighton Rangers A.F.C. for perimeter fencing

• £125 to Wetherby Lion Joanne Hovell who completed The Great North Run for Martin House and

• £100 to local resident Claire Maxted Wiggins who completed a sponsored zip wire drop off The Tyne Bridge for CoppaFeel , a breast cancer charity.

This amazing amount of money was only achieved by the continued generosity of the public in the Wetherby District area – so a very big “thank you” to them!
